Gambling affiliate content: checks for YouTube and streaming

Understand why a casino affiliate link, a video or a stream needs separate platform checks, with official YouTube and Twitch policy references.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Permission from an affiliate programme does not override a publishing platform's rules. Check the operator, destination, content format, audience and country before posting. YouTube prohibits facilitating access to uncertified gambling sites and guaranteed gambling returns. Twitch's branded-content guidance prohibits risky gambling promotions such as online slots or roulette websites.

Check the complete path

The relevant path includes the video or stream, its description, a spoken call to action, profile links and any intermediate page. Do not assess the first frame while ignoring the destination. A landing page does not remove the platform's rules. Save the policy URL, date and approval relevant to your actual campaign.

YouTube: the destination and message matter

YouTube's regulated-services policy covers videos, descriptions, comments and live streams, including ways of directing users elsewhere. Certification does not permit claims of guaranteed gambling returns. Treat the linked official guidance as the starting point for a destination-specific check, not blanket approval of an affiliate campaign.

Twitch: a disclosure does not make every promotion allowed

The official branded-content guidance identifies risky gambling products among prohibited categories. A sponsorship label or mature-audience setting does not create permission for a prohibited product. A streamer should verify the intended campaign before agreeing to publish it; being a Twitch Affiliate is a separate platform status from being a casino marketing affiliate.

Build a review sheet before producing

Use a short record that another person can check. If the answer is unknown, pause that publication rather than substituting what another channel appears to be doing.

  1. Exact publishing platform and format.
  2. Operator, destination URL and target audience countries.
  3. Programme permission and applicable platform requirements.
  4. Adult-audience controls and commercial disclosure.
  5. Rights to gameplay, music, logos and original creative.
  6. Final script, link placement, reviewer and review date.

A useful original-content approach

Where permitted, explain a product accurately and describe material conditions in plain language. Do not fabricate wins, copy someone else's identity or portray gambling as a solution to money problems. A research library can suggest questions to investigate; it cannot prove that an observed promotion is allowed or profitable.

Applying as a creator

Share the channel or production skill you actually control and the intended project. Win Commission reviews fit individually. There is no universal permission covering every platform or country, and application approval is separate from campaign approval.
