PLAIN ENGLISH, USEFUL EXAMPLES

The iGaming
affiliate glossary.

Understand what qualifies, how commission is calculated and what the numbers actually measure.

New here? Start with the business model

FTD

FTD means first-time depositor: a customer making a first deposit as defined by the programme. An FTD is not automatically a payable CPA acquisition. The agreement can add country, new-customer, attribution, minimum-deposit, verification or other qualification conditions.

See the worked explanation

NGR

NGR means net gaming revenue, a contract-defined revenue amount after specified deductions and adjustments. GGR generally describes gaming revenue before those contract-specific deductions. Neither is automatically the value of customer deposits. A RevShare calculation needs the exact revenue definition and the agreed percentage.

See the worked explanation

Negative carryover

Negative carryover means an agreement carries a negative revenue balance into a later calculation period. Future positive results may have to offset it before commission is earned. The contract also determines brand pooling, resets and exceptions. A no-carryover headline must be read together with those details.

See the worked explanation

Postback

A postback is a server-to-server notification about an attributed event. It can connect a supported click identifier to a registration, deposit or commission status. A received postback is not automatically a verified payable result. The integration must define event meaning, authentication, deduplication and corrections.

See the worked explanation

EPC

EPC means earnings per click: affiliate commission divided by a consistently counted number of clicks. For a useful commercial comparison, use confirmed commission after reversals and comparable reporting periods. EPC measures performance; it does not mean the programme pays for each click.

The starting vocabulary.

These definitions explain the concepts. Your accepted agreement defines the actual qualifying event, revenue base and payment conditions.
