A correct affiliate link uses an approved destination, preserves the operator-supported attribution identifier and belongs to a permitted partner, offer and channel. Test the entire redirect path before publication. Never assume a personal-looking short URL proves that conversions will be attributed.

Before creating the link

Confirm your offer access, traffic source, country availability and accepted terms version. An active link should stop safely when the offer or access is suspended.

Run the checklist

Creators, community owners and media buyers can all use the same basic review.

  1. Create a separate named link for the campaign and channel.
  2. Check the allowlisted destination and supported subID parameter.
  3. Open it on desktop and mobile.
  4. Confirm that the destination language and offer match the brief.
  5. Remove personal information from all URL parameters.
  6. Record the link name, accepted terms and publication location.
  7. Check that the reporting source can return the identifier you send.

When a link is wrong

Disable the affected link and replace the placement where possible. Keep the event trail for reconciliation. Do not disguise destinations, vary them to evade moderation or claim that an internal click count proves an operator conversion. Use only the destination approved for the offer and source.
